Khunti, June 24 (HS). The first Hockey Khunti Junior Boys and Girls League Championship was inaugurated in Khunti on Monday. International World Cup Hockey player Sushil Topno and officials of Hockey Association Khunti inaugurated the championship. A total of eight matches were played on Monday. In the first match of the boys category, Plus Two Hockey Center defeated Day Boarding Center Khunti 5-0.
In the second match Hockey Khunti defeated Day Boarding Torpa 6-0, in the third match RDC Bichna defeated Day Boarding Govindpur 11-0. In the fourth match the match played between Hockey Khunti and SS Plus Two Hockey Center ended in a draw with one goal each. In the first match of the girls category Day Boarding Khunti was defeated by RDC Bichna 1-0.
In the second match, U Boarding Govindpur defeated Day Boarding Torpa 2-1. In the third match, Hockey Khunti won 3-2 in the match between Hockey Khunti and Root Foundation, while in the fourth match, Khunti won 2-1 in the match between Day Boarding Khunti and Day Boarding Torpa. Gladson Bhengra, Namanjan Herenj of SS Plus Two Khunti Hockey Center, Anthony Purti of RDC, John Jaywant Dhan of Khunti were given the Player of the Match award. In the girls category, Bela Kumari of Day Boarding Khunti, Kusum Topno of Day Boarding Govindpur, Hiranjali Hemrom and Nandani Kumari of Hockey Khunti were given the Player of the Match.
