Who is IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola?
IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola is a 1985 batch Karnataka cadre officer. According to media reports, he is 62 years old. He hails from Uttarakhand. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indore University in 1982. After this, he did post graduation in Industrial Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1984. It is said that he was the topper of his batch. He has also obtained a master's degree in Development Management from Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines.
Got additional charge of NTA
IAS Pradeep Singh Kharola is the President of India Trade Promotion Organization from 2022. He has been given additional charge of National Testing Agency. He will be in charge of NTA till the appointment of a new director. Kharola has been the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka in the year 2012-13. He also headed the Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) in Karnataka.
He also took charge of Air India
IAS Pradeep Singh Kharola was the Chairman and Managing Director of Air India before privatization. He was made the head of Air India when the government was finalizing the strategic disinvestment mechanism of Air India. He has also served as the Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC). Pradeep Singh Kharola has also been the Joint Secretary of the National Administrative Reforms Commission.
