Mayawati declared Akash Anand as her successor Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has again declared nephew Akash Anand as her successor and has also entrusted him with the responsibility of national coordinator. A day earlier, Akash Anand had campaigned for the party as a star for the Uttarakhand by-election. Mayawati held a meeting of all the state presidents of BSP in Lucknow, in which Akash was also present. In the meeting, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati lovingly placed her hand on her nephew's head and patted his back.
Mayawati had criticized her nephew in the Lok Sabha elections
It is worth noting that during the Lok Sabha elections, Mayawati had made a shocking statement about Akash Anand. She called her nephew immature and removed him from the post of national coordinator of the party. Apart from this, she also refused to make him her successor because he was not mature. Actually, Akash had campaigned aggressively in the Lok Sabha elections. In the rally, he attacked the opposition party fiercely and made aggressive comments. Many of his speeches were discussed then.
Mayawati took action against Akash
An FIR has been filed against Akash for calling BJP terrorists in his speech. Then Mayawati had said after removing him from the post of national coordinator that he needs to be more mature. BSP was on the backfoot in the Lok Sabha elections. The party could not win a single seat in Uttar Pradesh. Not only this, the percentage of votes received by the party also decreased by 19 percent. This time the party got only about 10 percent votes. According to political experts, Akash Tevaro has breathed new life into the party.
Political journey of Akash Anand
Akash started his career in politics as a National Coordinator. Akash Anand was first made the National Coordinator to strengthen Mayawati's organization and campaign for the elections. Then on 10 December 2023, Mayawati declared Akash as her successor. Akash had campaigned vigorously in the Lok Sabha elections.
Akash Anand BSP's star campaigner
Akash was made the star campaigner of the party for the by-elections to be held in Uttarakhand on Saturday. Assembly by-elections are going to be held in Punjab and Uttarakhand. For this, the party has announced the list of its 13 star campaigners, in which BSP chief Mayawati's name is first and Akash Anand's name is second. This makes it clear that Akash Anand has once again entered politics. Voting is to be held on July 10 on two assembly seats in Uttarakhand and one assembly seat in Punjab.
