Gautam Adani's salary is 9.26 crores, know whether it is more or less than Mukesh Ambani?

Gautam Adani, India's second-richest man, received a total salary of Rs 9.26 crore in the financial year ended March 31, 2024. This is significantly less than his other counterparts in the industry. The annual reports of 10 listed companies of the Adani Group show that 61-year-old Adani took salary from only two of the 10 group companies operating in the port-to-energy sector. He used to get a salary of Rs. 2.19 crore and Rs. 27 lakh as benefits and other allowances.

According to AEL's annual report, his total salary is Rs. 2.46 crores, three per cent higher than the previous financial year 2022-23. Apart from this, Adani received a salary of Rs. 6.8 crores from Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ).

Adani's salary is very less compared to others

Adani's salary is less than the heads of almost all the big family-owned groups in India. Mukesh Ambani, the country's richest Indian, is not taking any salary after Covid-19. Earlier his salary was limited to Rs 15 crore annually. Adani's salary is more than telecom baron Sunil Bharti Mittal (Rs 16.7 crore in 2022-23), Rajiv Bajaj (Rs 53.7 crore), Pawan Munjal (Rs 80 crore), L&T Chairman SN Subramaniam and Infosys CEO Salil S Parekh

According to the 'Bloomberg Billionaire Index', Adani's net worth is $106 billion. He is competing with Ambani to become Asia's richest man. He became Asia's richest man in 2022, but the value of his group companies' shares fell by $150 billion last year after a report by American short-seller Hindenburg Research. This year he overtook Ambani twice. However, now he has again come back to second place.

Nephew's salary is more than Adani's

Ambani is ranked 12th in the list of the world's richest people with a net worth of $111 billion. Adani is ranked 14th in this list. Adani's younger brother Rajesh received Rs. 8.37 crore as salary from AEL, which also includes commission on profits. 4.71 crore is included in the annual report. At the same time, his nephew Pranab Adani received Rs. 4.5 crore including commission and Rs. 6.46 crore as remuneration.
