Weather update: After three days of scorching heat, pre-monsoon will start in Punjab. After this, rain is expected in most parts of the state for three days from 26th. Along with this, monsoon is expected to arrive in Himachal from 28th June, due to which rain will start two days earlier. However, due to western disturbance, a change in weather can be seen in Haryana from 24th to 27th.
The Meteorological Department has predicted pre-monsoon in Punjab for the next three days from 26th. According to Chandigarh Center Director A.K. Singh, considering the speed at which the monsoon is progressing, pre-monsoon will knock on the 26th. Monsoon is expected to arrive in Punjab by the end of this month. He said that this time the monsoon rain will be more than normal.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heat wave in Punjab on Monday and Tuesday. During this period, the temperature may increase by two to four degrees. On Saturday also, the maximum temperature of Punjab increased by 3.1 degrees. It is still 3 degrees above average. Ludhiana remained the hottest due to the heat wave.
The maximum temperature here was recorded at 42.9 degrees. Along with this, the maximum temperature of Amritsar was 39.4, Ludhiana 41.4, Patiala 40.4, Bathinda 34.0, Gurdaspur 40.0 and Ferozepur 38.8 degrees.
People troubled by the heat may have to wait for six to eight more days for the monsoon. According to meteorologists, the monsoon can reach Haryana anytime between 27 and 30 June. Light rain is expected to start in the state from 26 June. But before that, there is a possibility of heat wave again in some areas on 24 and 25 June. Meanwhile, the temperature can reach 45 degrees.
People of Haryana have got relief from the heat for the last two days. The heat has reduced due to rain in some cities and the temperature has gone below 40 degrees Celsius in most cities. Rain was also recorded in some cities on Saturday.
