Forbesganj/Araria, June 22 (HS). In a major operation near the India-Nepal border pillar number 172 in Dumriya of Dubatola area, the external border outpost of SSB 56th battalion in Araria, two smugglers were arrested with 174 kg of marijuana.
The arrested smugglers include Lila Nanda Mandal and Jyoti Mandal, residents of Ward 4, Pipra Jokharan, Jogbani police station area.
The BOP commander said that information was received that a smuggler from Nepal was about to enter Indian territory with a large consignment of ganja. As soon as the information was received, a special check post was set up on the border with the soldiers. After some time, the said smuggler entered the Indian border with ganja and the soldiers caught him. He was interrogated by Assistant Commandant of 56th Battalion Abhishek Gupta and handed over to Sonamni Gudam police station for further action.
