Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has come to India on a two-day visit. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh welcomed her at Delhi airport on Friday. Sheikh Hasina was welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After this, Sheikh Hasina and PM Modi met the ministers of both the countries in the President's courtyard. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Union Minister JP Nadda, Minister of State Jitender Singh and Kirti Vardhan Singh were also present with PM Modi to welcome the Bangladesh PM.
Sheikh Hasina also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by visiting Rajghat. After paying tribute at Rajghat, Sheikh Hasina met Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House in Delhi. Both the leaders took part in a bilateral meeting here. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Sheikh Hasina's visit will boost India-Bangladesh relations.
Apart from discussing bilateral relations with Prime Minister Modi, Sheikh Hasina will also meet Indian President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Over the years, India-Bangladesh have strengthened their ties in historical, cultural and geographical areas. Last year, the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline was inaugurated between the two countries.
