People travel by making reservations for convenient travel but many times people miss their trains due to various reasons, due to which the money spent on the ticket is wasted. Because after the chart is prepared, the ticket cannot be cancelled. But Indian Railways gives you a facility due to which you are saved from loss.
You can file TDR
If you are traveling in Indian Railways and have booked a ticket. It has been seen many times that people miss their train even before reaching the railway station. But in such a situation you do not need to worry. Then you can do something which will not cause any loss to you. Indian Railways has made a provision of TDR for such cases.
You can file TDR i.e. Ticket Deposit Receipt. Then you get a refund but you have to keep in mind that you file TDR within one hour of the train leaving. Because if you file TDR after one hour then you will not get a refund.
How to file TDR?
You can file TDR only through the same medium through which you have booked the ticket. If you have booked the ticket offline then you will have to go to the railway ticket counter and fill the TDR form and file the TDR but you have booked the ticket online.
After this, you will have to file TDR online through IRCTC website or app. To file TDR from the app, you will first have to login to the app. After this, you will have to click on the train option. There you will get the option to file TDR.
After this, you will get the option of ticket for filing TDR on which you can file TDR. You have to select one of the reasons given for filing TDR. You can submit TDR immediately and you will get refund within 60 days.
