On Saturday, 70 couples got married under the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana in the Higher Secondary School campus of Sambalpur in Navagarh development block of Bemetara district. Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Dayal Das Baghel blessed the newly married couple, extended his good wishes and presented gifts. He said that Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana is a boon for economically weak families. Through this scheme, it is a good means to end the evils like wasteful expenditure and dowry system. Parents of such girls are not facing financial problems.
Food Minister Mr. Baghel said that marriage is an important part of social life. It is not only the union of the bride and groom but also the uniting of two families. He said that we all have an important role in the society, be it social, cultural or economic. We all have to discharge our responsibilities together. The state government has made many better schemes for the betterment of the people, one of which is Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, the benefits of which are being availed by poor people of every section of the state.
