New Delhi, June 21 (HS). Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a pre-budget consultation meeting with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on Friday. In this meeting held here under the chairmanship of Sitharaman, representatives of MSMEs put forward their views regarding the upcoming General Budget 2024-25.
In a statement issued on 'X' post on Friday, the Finance Ministry said that Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held the fifth pre-budget consultation meeting with representatives of MSMEs before the presentation of the upcoming general budget. In this meeting chaired by Sitharaman, representatives of MSMEs put forward their demands regarding the General Budget 2024-25.
According to the ministry, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary, Finance Secretary, Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Department of Economic Affairs, Revenue Financial Services, officials of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Secretary, Ministry of MSME and Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India also attended the fifth pre-budget consultation meeting with representatives of MSMEs regarding the upcoming General Budget 2024-25.
It is noteworthy that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented the interim budget for the financial year 2024-25 before the general elections. After the elections, she has again been given the responsibility of the Finance Ministry. She has now started preparing for the full budget.
