Kishanganj, June 21 (HS). Necessary efforts are being made in the district to strengthen maternal health and ensure the safety of mother and child. On Friday, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that antenatal (ANC) checkup of pregnant women was done in all PHCs, CHCs, referral and subdivisional and district hospitals of the district.
He said that this checkup was done by organizing camps under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan in health institutions. Camps are organized under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan on the 9th and 21st of every month with the aim of providing better health services to pregnant women. Under which, women's weight, BP, HIV, blood sugar along with covid vaccination have also been done. Free prenatal checkup of pregnant women was done under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan in the district.
Dr. Ashiya Noori, female medical officer working in the rural primary health center of the district, said that in the present times, to control the population and to prevent unwanted pregnancies, as well as to prevent the problems of pregnancy immediately after giving birth to a child, pregnant and lactating women were given information about various family planning resources such as condom, Mala D, Antara, Copper T and sterilization, permanent and temporary means of family planning.
