Jodhpur, June 21 (HS). On the eve of World Music Day in the city, folk singers were honored with Marudhara Gaurav Samman.
Justice Dr. Pushpendra Singh Bhati of Rajasthan High Court was the chief guest. Dr. Swati Sharma, President of the Institute presided over the function and Padma Shri International Folk Artist Anwar Khan and President of Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy B L Mehra were the special guests.
Secretary of Marudhara Folk Art Music and Service Institute, Sulochana Gaur said that on the eve of World Music Day, those artists were honoured who gave Rajasthan a unique identity in the world with their melodious singing from before independence till now.
On this occasion, folk singers Allah Jilai Bai, Gavari Devi, Fateh Kumari Vyas, Ramchandra Goyal, Krishna Changani, Banarasi Das, gardener Chhanvarlal Gehlot, Kaluram Prajapati, Kushal Barhat, Mame Khan and Swaroop Khan were honored.
