Food regulator of India issued notice to Tata Airlines company, know the reason

Tata Group's Air India airline is once again in the news. Actually, FSSAI had issued a correction notice to an airline company in the case of finding things like blades in food items in the flight. Airline food is supplied by Tajsets. FSSAI has also given 15 days to the airline company to rectify the mistake.

What is the whole matter?

A blade-like object was found in the food served to the passengers on an Air India flight going from Bangalore to San Francisco. Earlier also, many passengers have complained about the poor quality of food in flights. This notice has been sent after a blade-like object was found in the food recently, this incident happened on June 9. FSSAI conducted an inspection at TajSATS Bangalore. Food was supplied to airlines from there.

15 day extension

Under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, an improvement notice can be issued to a food business operator if it has failed to comply with any rules and is required to take necessary action within a reasonable period. He said the company has been asked to comply with the notice within 15 days.

Air India and its catering partner TajSATS are owned by the Tata Group. The airline apologised for the incident on Monday. It said the incident occurred in a vegetable processing machine used at its catering partner TajSATS. The food safety authority found that the blade of the automatic vegetable cutter had become detached and got stuck inside a piece of vegetable.

Instructions were given to take action on this

TajSATS has been directed to strengthen inspection and maintenance procedures and take other corrective measures including installation of X-ray machines and manual cutting of vegetables to prevent such incidents. FSSAI had recently issued an improvement notice to IndiGo. He said FSSAI held several meetings with airlines and food suppliers and asked them to adhere to food safety norms.
