Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has suffered a setback in the money laundering case related to Delhi's liquor policy. On Kejriwal's bail plea, the Delhi High Court said that the lower court's order will remain suspended till the hearing. That is, Kejriwal will not be released from Tihar Jail until the High Court hears the case.
The Delhi High Court has allowed immediate hearing on the ED's petition against the bail granted to Arvind Kejriwal. The High Court said, “The order of the lower court will not be effective until we hear the case. While filing the petition in the High Court, the ED argued that we did not get a chance to present our case in the lower court. In response to this, Kejriwal's lawyer said that it is not right to say so. In fact, on Thursday (June 20, 2024), the trial court granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal in a case. Delhi Excise Policy had given it, so Kejriwal could have come out of Tihar Jail on Friday (June 21, 2024), but the High Court has currently put a stay on it.
The ED had argued in the court on Thursday that Kejrival The alleged proceeds of crime and co-accused are linked to them. Along with this, Kejriwal's lawyer had said that the central investigating agency has no evidence in this regard. In such a situation, bail should be granted. The ED has claimed that Arvind Kejriwal is the main conspirator of the irregularities in the Delhi liquor policy. Many other AAP leaders have also been involved in this whole matter. AAP denied this and said that all this is happening out of political revenge.
