New Delhi: As soon as the NEET UG 2024 results were declared, students and various educational institutions made allegations of widespread malpractice and paper leak in NEET. New revelations are coming out every day on the NEET issue. The Economic Offenses Wing of Bihar Police has so far arrested 13 people, including some students, in the NEET paper leak case. In the police investigation, about seven accused have claimed that they had received the NEET paper a day before and its answer was hidden in the safe house. In view of these irregularities, the students say that they no longer have any faith in the NTA, which conducts the exam. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Central Government and NTA regarding the cancellation of NEET.
Of the 13 accused arrested so far in the NEET paper leak case by the Economic Offenses Wing of Bihar Police, seven have admitted that Sikandar had carried out the entire scam by cracking the NEET paper. The investigation by Bihar Police revealed that the question papers were collected from printing companies in NTA nodal locations in various states, from where they were sent to local banks. After this, they were first sent to the examination centers.
According to sources, employees of agencies involved in the transportation of NEET-UG question papers leaked the paper during transportation. Accused Amit Anand obtained the paper during transportation and carried out this scam in connivance with the main accused Sikandar. Police investigation has revealed that Amit Anand is a NEET paper solver who gave answers to all the questions to the students a day before the exam. Accused Amit Anand himself ran an education consultancy.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Thursday issued notice to the Central Government, National Testing Agency (NTA) and others after hearing several petitions seeking cancellation of NEET-UG 2024. In this petition, the students have demanded cancellation of NEET and an investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Along with this, Justice Vikram Nath and SVN Bhati have stayed the petitions filed in various High Courts and the Supreme Court regarding the claims of paper leak. Hearing on all the petitions regarding NEET across the country has been fixed on July 8. While many applications are being filed in the Supreme Court on the issue of NEET, on Thursday, an application has been filed on behalf of more than 20 students demanding cancellation of NEET 2024.
On the other hand, students are demanding the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2024 exam itself in view of issues such as widespread irregularities, paper leaks and sharp jump in the merit list due to grace marks. After widespread reports of paper leaks and other irregularities, most students say they no longer trust the National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the exam.
The students have also demanded a CBI inquiry into the irregularities and paper leak in NEET from the Supreme Court. A student said, you cannot repair a damaged tree by removing a bad leaf. You have to uproot the entire tree. We have no information about where in the country NEET irregularities and paper leaks are taking place. Apart from this, the students have also asked for one to two months' time to conduct the exam again.
Got the paper the night before, got the answers but got bad marks
Patna: New revelations are being made every day in the NEET paper leak case. Sikandar, a student arrested by the Economic Offenses Wing of Bihar Police in the paper leak case, claimed that he had received the paper a day before. 100 percent similar questions were asked in the exam. He had memorized all the answers. Four students are also among those arrested by the police. The paper was received early and despite all the answers being good, the result of these students was poor. Anurag Yadav got 185 marks out of 720. His total percentile was 54.85 percent. Anurag got 85.8 percentile in Physics and 51 percentile in Biology. But he got only five percentile in Chemistry. Similarly, Ayush Raj got 300 marks out of 700. Abhishek got 581 marks and Shivanandan Kumar got 583 marks.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday said that a high-level committee will recommend to further improve the structure, functioning, security protocols of the National Testing Agency (NTA). We are committed to 'zero error' testing. Students are the future of the country. We appeal to political parties not to spread rumors. Politics should not be done in this matter. The government is ready for any reform. However, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan insisted that NEET will not be canceled. The interest of the students is our priority. It will not be compromised at any cost. Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty in the NEET case. We are in constant touch with the Bihar government. I take moral responsibility that we are committed to zero error testing.
