Big disclosure in NEET scam, lakhs paid to outsourced staff, contract for exam centers

NEET Exam Scam : Amidst the hustle and bustle of the medical entrance exam 'NEET' (NEET 2024), the National Testing Agency (NTA) has canceled the UGC-NET exam held on June 18. The Ministry of Education has decided to hand over the investigation of the irregularities in the UGC-NET exam to the CBI. The process of both these examinations was in the hands of NTA, so now after the irregularities have come to light, NTA has come under suspicion. Apart from this, the biggest disclosure has also been made in the NET scam. For exam performance, NTA takes the help of outsourced employees and contract companies in the examination centers.

What is NTA?

Actually NTA i.e. National Testing Agency was established in the year 2017. This agency conducts examinations for admission to higher education and various government institutions. NTA was established under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860. It was created by the Ministry of Human Resources (now Ministry of Education).

Responsibilities of NTA

Apart from NEET and NET, NTA is also responsible for conducting Indian Institute of Foreign Trade entrance exam, Common University Entrance Test (CUET), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains exam, Common Management cum Admission Test (CMAT) National Institute of Fashion Technology entrance exam, Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) examinations.

How is the paper prepared?

The paper prepared by NTA reaches the candidates after overcoming many challenges. According to the information given on the NTA website, to prepare the paper, subject experts first prepare the questions. The test development committee then checks those questions. After checking, a paper is written from those questions, after checking which some questions are removed. After this process is completed, the paper is assembled and then the final paper is made.

Most of the work in NT is out on tender

It is the responsibility of NTA to prepare the paper. For this, it conducts the examination with the help of outsourcers. However, one of the reasons for raising questions on NTA is that NTA does most of its work on the tender system. Many reports have said that NTA does not have its own system to conduct the examination, so the examination is being conducted through outsourcing. In such a situation, many tenders are issued and companies are hired. All the work of the examination center is in the hands of these companies. Not only this, the entire staff is also hired from outsourcing. Therefore, it is believed that due to the negligence of these companies, irregularities in the examinations have come to light.

Where does NTA issue tenders?

NTA issues tenders for all arrangements at the exam centre including computers, CCTV etc. NTA issues tenders at the EMT rate of Rs 1 crore.

NTA also issues tenders for staff. NTA has issued tenders for the posts of Technical Support Group, Office Assistant, Senior Assistant, Consultant, Junior Consultant Advisor, Data Analyst etc. in outsourced employees for Mainpar. In this tender, educational details of all the employees were also sought. In this, many people are given salaries up to Rs 1.5 lakh.

Apart from this, tenders have also been issued by NTA for QR code solution and many companies have been hired in this. In such a situation, NTA conducts the examination with the help of many companies through tender. The employees working in the examination process are also appointed from outside, they are not appointed by NTA.

The UGC-NET exam was held on June 18

However, there was a complaint that the paper of this exam was leaked. This exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency as a computer-based test. This exam is conducted twice every year in December and June. This exam is conducted in a total of 83 subjects.

The series of paper leaks continues in the country

This is the first time that the UGC NET exam has been cancelled. For the past several years, papers of many important exams have been leaked and the exams had to be cancelled. Now, with the inclusion of UGC NET, candidates preparing to become professors are disappointed. Along with cancelling the exam, the central government has ordered a CBI inquiry into the paper leak.
