Udhampur, 24 February (Hindustan Reporter). To promote greater use of mother tongue, Dogri Department organized a slogan writing competition on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the theme of which was 'The importance of mother tongue'. This program was organized by Principal Prof. Done under the supervision of Anjali Mahajan.
On this occasion, Principal in-charge of the college, Dr. Indu Khajuria was the chief guest and while addressing the students, she stressed the need to make collective efforts for the preservation and promotion of their mother tongue. Dr. Indu congratulated and appreciated the organizers as well as the participants of the program for their active participation in the activities scheduled by the college from time to time.
Students of all semesters participated in the competition, out of which Lata Thakur of 1st semester got the first prize. Tamanna Devi of sixth semester got second position. Apart from this, Lakshmi Devi of 6th semester got the third prize and Shalu Devi of 6th semester got the consolation prize.
Dr. Mool Raj, Head of Urdu Department, Dr. Gitanjali Rajput, Head of English Department and Dr. Shalu Jasrotia, Music Department played the role of judges in the program. On the spot, Dr. Seema Sharma, Prof. Yash Kumar and Prof. Sanjay Kumar was present.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Dr. Sushma Kumari, HOD of Dogri Department and Prof. of Dogri Department. Done by Manju Devi. The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Professor Shama Rani.
