Along with this, the MPs who lost the Lok Sabha elections will also have to vacate their residences. According to sources, the ministers who lost the Lok Sabha elections have been instructed to vacate the bungalow. They have got time till July 11 to vacate the bungalow. The Director of States under the Ministry of Urban Development has announced the notice.

Talking about the ministers who lost in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the names include Smriti Irani, RK Singh, Arjun Munda, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Sanjeev Balyan, Rajiv Chandrashekhar, Kailash Choudhary, Ajay Mishra Teni, V Muralidharan, Nishit Pramanik, Subhash Sarkar, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Raosaheb Danve, Kaushal Kishore, Bhanu Pratap Verma, Kapil Patil, Bhagwant Khuba, Bharti Pawar etc. There are also leaders like Meenakshi Lekhi, who did not get the ticket.
What are the rules?
Union ministers and MPs are allotted bungalows in Lutyens Delhi. MPs and ministers get accommodation on the basis of their membership of the House. The defeated MPs have to vacate the government bungalow within 1 month of the end of their membership. A notice has been published for this. The accommodation has to be vacated within 30 days of receiving the notice. Government bungalows are evicted under the Unauthorized Occupants Public Premises Eviction Act. In case of any dispute, a show cause notice is sent.
