The Indian stock market started with a rise today. But within a few minutes of the market opening, the Sensex-Nifty came in the red mark. The Sensex has reached close to 77,300 and the Nifty has gone below 23500. Banking stocks are on the rise and bank stocks dominate the top gainers in the Sensex-Nifty.

So far, the Sensex is trading 26.52 points down at 77,311. The NSE Nifty is trading 27.80 points down at 23,488.
Situation at 10.30am
At 10.30 am, the Sensex was seen at 77,365 points with a gain of 27 points. While the Nifty is trading at 23,535 points with a gain of 19.25.

Today, the BSE Sensex opened at 77,423, up 85.91 points or 0.11 per cent, while the NSE Nifty opened at 23,527, up just 11 points.

The total market capitalisation of stocks listed on BSE today is Rs 434.82 lakh crore and in US dollar terms, it is trading at $5.12 trillion.
Sensex Stock Status
Out of the 30 stocks on the BSE Sensex, only 11 are up while 19 are down. Kotak Mahindra Bank was the top gainer with a gain of 1.93 per cent and Tata Motors, UltraTech Cement, JSW Steel, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, HUL, Reliance Industries were also among the gainers.
