Hisar, 24 February (Hissar). After the dispute at village Khedi Chowpata in Narnaund area of the district, farmers held a mahapanchayat at Pakka Morcha on Saturday. In the Mahapanchayat, it was decided to continue the strike till 29th February. After this the movement will be intensified by taking a big decision. For security reasons, heavy police force was deployed around the protest. Police were also deployed at checkpoints by placing barricades on all road routes.
The farmers warned the administration not to harass them unnecessarily. The farmers are protesting peacefully. After Friday's incident, anger was seen among the farmers towards the police. Heavy police force has been deployed at Khedi Chopta since Saturday morning. The whole day, Superintendent of Police Maqsood Ahmed kept sitting at Khedi post and taking news from moment to moment. The police also kept a water cannon vehicle deployed outside the post.
Farmer leaders Vikas Sisar, Suresh Koth, Shamsher Numberdar and others said that the police is unnecessarily harassing the farmers who are protesting peacefully. Because of the DSP of the police, the entire incident took place on Friday in which dozens of farmers were injured. Regarding this, a meeting of the dharna committee was held in which it was decided that the dharna will be conducted smoothly at Khedi Chopta only. Farmers are registering their protest peacefully. Police officers should not harass the farmers unnecessarily so that no untoward incident happens.
Farmer leaders sitting on the border have announced that the farmers will not march to Delhi till 29th February, due to this, even on the Khedi Chopta dharna, they will not march anywhere till 29th February. After that, according to the decision of the farmer leaders, the farmers will hold a meeting and take the decision.
Farmer leaders of United Kisan Morcha, Inderjeet, Dilbagh Hooda, Rajendra, Satbir Ladwa said that the stone pelting on farmers by the police administration is condemnable. The Chief Minister of the state should take strict action against the police officers. The government wants to create division among the farmer organizations but all the farmer organizations are united. All farmer organizations have only one demand and farmers will return home only after getting it fulfilled. On the other hand, about 450 policemen have been deployed by the police administration at Khedi Chopta, who are keeping an eye on every moment incident of the farmers.
