Former Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan's magnificent Rushikonda Hill Palace in Visakhapatnam has been opened to the public by the government of new Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

During Jagan's reign, this palace with three luxury residential and four office buildings was built at a cost of Rs 500 crore. Rushikonda Palace is spread over 9.88 acres along the coast, with 12 bedrooms in three residential buildings and each bedroom has an attached luxury washroom. The hard-earned money of the people of Andhra was lavishly spent on luxurious amenities, high-quality furnishings, chandeliers, bath tubs and floor work. The bathroom in each palace is 430 square feet. The biggest expense was on the bath tub. Rs 33 crore was spent on the interior decoration of the building.

The exterior of the building has also been beautifully decorated. Three types of walkways were built in the park. Chandrababu's son and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh compared the palace to the palaces built by Janardhan Reddy and Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, saying that the construction of the palace was shrouded in secrecy and Jagan gave contracts only to supporters of his party, YSRCP. The green resort built in Rushikonda Hills for the palace was demolished. 20 feet high barricading was done all around to prevent the construction from being noticed. It is worth noting that Jagan had inaugurated this building without anyone's approval before the assembly elections and he had planned to shift it after the elections, but with his party's crushing defeat in the elections, the political picture of Andhra changed completely.
