Koderma, June 18 (HS). The last rites of martyred CRPF jawan Uma Charan Paswan (54) were performed with salute on Tuesday in Bhakhra village of the remote insurgency affected area. There was mourning in Bhakhra village and Satgawan area after the news of his death. Along with relatives and villagers, social workers also reached the funeral and consoled the family members. For the last rites, 40 CRPF jawans came with the body from Mokama Bihar state, who reached Satgawan police station on Monday night and in the morning the body was brought to their village Bhakhra.
The body was cremated in the presence of soldiers. He was appointed as a constable in CRPF from Mokama Bihar in 1992. He was selected as a commando from Daltonganj in Delhi, from Delhi in Jammu and Kashmir, after which he was sent to Delhi, where he worked in the security guard of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for 2 years.
He was promoted to SI in his own department. After that, he got injured on his head in the stampede of the farmers' movement on 16 February 2024 in Delhi, due to which he was admitted to IBS Hospital in Delhi. He was undergoing treatment there, but died during treatment on 16 June. The body was brought to Patna on Monday evening. The soldiers from Satgawan police station brought his body to Bhakra where the last rites were performed. The soldiers present saluted.
