Saharsa, June 18 (HS). Two people were arrested after unearthing a mini gun factory in Pama Pahadpur Gagot Tola Ward No. 16 under Patarghat police station area of the district. Manufactured and semi-manufactured weapons and other equipment were recovered from them. More than 97 liters of Corex cough syrup and a Creta car were also recovered.
In this regard, Sadar SDPO Alok Kumar gave this information in a press conference at Sadar police station on Tuesday. The Deputy Superintendent of Police said that under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, immediate action is being taken against the criminals. He told that the Patarghat police station in-charge received secret information that absconding accused Rajesh Mandal of Patarghat police station case number 489/22 and 323/23 is again manufacturing illegal weapons with Devki Mandal's boy at Devki Mandal's house in village Pahadpur Gagot Toll Ward No. 16 under Patarghat police station. Based on the said information, under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, a team was formed with Patarghat police and Pastpar police under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Sadar and a raid was conducted.
During the raid, a minigun factory was unearthed. Two persons were arrested along with weapons and weapons making tools. Also, fully manufactured, semi-manufactured weapons and weapons making tools were recovered. In this regard, a case was registered in Patarghat police station under the Arms Act.
He said that during the raid, two country-made pistols, two barrels, an electric cutter, a small lathe machine, a hexa blade, a file and semi-manufactured parts were recovered. Rajesh Mandal, father-Gajendra Mandal, Sintu Mandal, father-Devaki Mandal have a long criminal history. Many criminal cases are registered against them.
It was told that the police is running a special search campaign to stop the consumption, manufacture, sale, storage and transportation of illegal liquor in the district and to take strict action against liquor smugglers. In this sequence, the Pastapar police station chief received secret information that a black colored Creta car with registration BR 19-L-5868 is coming towards Pastapar from Gwalpada Madhepura carrying illegal Corex.
On getting the information, the Pastpar police station in-charge and other police officers and personnel set up vehicle checking on the Madhepura-Pastpar border. During the vehicle checking, a Creta car was seen coming at a very high speed and it was signaled to stop, but the driver started driving the car very fast, which was chased by a police vehicle and Patarghat police station was also informed for assistance. The people riding in the said Creta car stopped the car near a peepal tree a little before Rahua Hasan Toll village under Pastpar police station area and four people got out of it very fast and fled. Four white colored sacks from the same car, which contained some goods, were thrown in the ditch near the peepal tree. Patarghat police stopped near the peepal tree to take care of the thrown goods. The persons riding in the said Creta car started running away from the car again and were then chased by the Pastpar Police Station Incharge but after parking the car near a house in Rahua Hasan Toll Village under Pastpar Police Station area, all the four persons riding the car took advantage of the streets and managed to escape.
In this regard, a case under Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act-2022 was registered at Pastapar police station. Raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accused. On this occasion, 975 pieces of cough syrup containing codeine, total quantity – 97.500 liters and a car were recovered.
