Conway suffered a fracture in his left thumb.
New Zealand player Conway got injured on his left toe while keeping wicket in the match being played at Eden Park in Auckland. During the second over of the match, when Adam Milne was bowling at a speed of over 140 kmph, his ball hit Conway on the toe of his left foot. After this he had to leave the field and Finn Allen took over the responsibility of keeping for the rest of the innings.
New Zealand Cricket shared an update on Conway on Twitter, saying, “Devon Conway has left the field for an X-ray of his left thumb after suffering an injury while keeping wickets in the second T20I. “X-rays revealed that Devon Conway has a broken left big toe.”

However, Conway did not come to bat in the second innings and New Zealand suffered a heavy defeat by 72 runs. Australia posted a competitive score of 174, led by a brilliant bowling performance from Adam Zampa (4/34). The host team was out for 102 runs in the 17th over.
