New Delhi, June 18 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reaching his parliamentary constituency Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) today. The Prime Minister will release the 17th installment of about Rs 20,000 crore under the PM-Kisan scheme from Varanasi. More than 9.26 crore farmers will get benefits of more than Rs 20,000 crore from the 17th installment. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shared Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public program in Varanasi on its X handle. According to the details available on BJP's X handle, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the PM Kisan Sammelan in Varanasi today at 4:15 pm. After this, he will reach Kashi Vishwanath temple at 6:15 pm and offer prayers. After 45 minutes, Prime Minister Modi will reach Dashashwamedh Ghat to have darshan of Maa Ganga. He will participate in the grand Ganga Aarti to be held at this ghat.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India has also issued a press release informing about the Varanasi program of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to PIB, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 17th installment of PM-Kisan Yojana on June 18. This will benefit more than 9.26 crore farmers with more than Rs 20,000 crore. The Prime Minister will also distribute certificates to more than 30,000 self-help groups trained as Krishi Sakhis to work as para extension workers. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and several ministers of state will attend this program. More than 2.5 crore farmers from 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), more than one lakh primary agricultural cooperative societies and five lakh common service centers across the country will participate in this program.
According to the Press Information Bureau, a special program will be held on this occasion at 50 selected Krishi Vikas Kendras (KVKs). A large number of farmers will participate in the program organized at these centers. Many Union Ministers will also reach these centers and interact with the farmers. Farmers will also be made aware about good agricultural practices, new emerging technologies in the agriculture sector, climate-friendly agriculture etc. They will also be taught how to check their PM-Kisan beneficiary status, payment status etc. How to use the Kisan-e-Mitra chatbot. The Union Minister will also distribute certificates to the trained Krishi Sakhis of the area.
It is noteworthy that in this regard, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has provided details of the important role of agriculture in India's economy and Prime Minister Modi's unwavering support to farmers in a press conference on June 15. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was launched on February 24, 2019. The central government has so far distributed more than Rs 3.04 lakh crore to more than 11 crore farmers of the country.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, after the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on his first visit to Uttar Pradesh on June 18 and Bihar on June 19. Prime Minister Modi will visit the ancient heritage site in Bihar's Nalanda on June 19 at 9:45 am. He will also address a public meeting after inaugurating the campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir at 10:30 am.
