Katihar, June 17 (HS). Train number 13174 Kanchenjunga Express going from Agartala to Sealdah was hit from behind by a goods train near Rangapani and Nijbari under Katihar Railway Division area. Five passengers died in this accident and about two dozen passengers were injured, who are being treated in the local hospital.
Senior DCM of Katihar Railway Division said on Monday that helpline numbers have been issued by the railway administration for Katihar, Barsoi, Dalkola, Kishanganj and NJP.

He said that train number 20506 Rajdhani Express started from Barsoi and has been diverted via Thakurganj. As soon as the information about the incident was received, a team of railway officials along with ART special train was dispatched to the spot and relief work is going on on a war footing.
