Weather Updates : Monsoon has entered India and pre-monsoon activities have started in other parts of the country as well. On the other hand, unbearable heat and heat wave are being seen in some states including Uttar Pradesh and the capital Delhi. While common people are suffering due to the monsoon outbreak in Delhi NCR, the Meteorological Department has said that the unbearable heat and heat wave conditions will continue for a few more days. Apart from this, IMD has said that some areas of North India may get relief from the scorching heat after June 18.
Southwest monsoon has advanced into some other parts
Meanwhile, according to the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon has moved towards many other parts. In the next four-five days, it is likely to advance to Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and some more parts of North West Bay of Bengal, Gangetic plains of West Bengal, rest of West Bengal and some parts of Bihar. On June 16, a red alert for heat wave has been issued in some parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Orange alert in Delhi from 16 to 18 June
The Meteorological Department has declared an orange alert, predicting heavy rains in the capital Delhi, some areas of Punjab and Haryana. On June 16 and 17, Delhi will have clear skies, heatwave to severe heatwave conditions, strong winds during the day (speed 30-40 kmph). Then on June 18, it will be cloudy with the following conditions. Some areas of Punjab and Haryana will also experience severe heat from June 15 to 18.
Possibility of rain in the next three-four days
According to the IMD, heavy rains are likely in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya in the next three to four days. Apart from this, light to moderate rains may occur in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next seven days. Heavy rains may occur in Meghalaya for the next four days from today and in some parts of Assam between June 17 and June 19. According to the forecast, rain is likely in Kerala and Telangana, while heavy rains may occur in some parts of Odisha on June 18 and 19. Apart from this, light to moderate rains are also likely in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha in the next four days.
