New Delhi, June 17 (HS). Namaz of Eid-ul-Azha was offered in Jama Masjid across the country this morning. After this people congratulated each other. A large number of people reached Jama Masjid in the national capital Delhi to offer Namaz. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi offered Namaz of Eid-ul-Azha at Dargah Panja Sharif in Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar have earlier congratulated the countrymen on the eve of Eid-uz-Zuha.
The festival of Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated till Wednesday evening. Eid-ul-Azha namaz was offered at Delhi's Jama Masjid at 6 am and at Fatehpuri Masjid at 7:15 am. Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid Dr. Mufti Mukarram Ahmed said that while sacrificing, care should be taken that no one is hurt by it. There is a lot of hustle bustle in the markets of Old Delhi on Eid-ul-Azha. The markets of Old Delhi remained crowded throughout the night.
In her message, President Draupadi Murmu said, “On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all my countrymen and Indians living abroad, especially my Muslim brothers and sisters.” Vice President Dhankhar said, “While celebrating Eid-ul-Adha, let us reflect on the values of unity, compassion and fraternity that form the foundation of not only this festival, but our entire society. This festival is also an important occasion for families and communities to come together and express their spirit of joy and harmony.”
