MP: Alirajpur advanced farmers received 10 awards in National Mango Festival

Indore, June 16 (HS). Special efforts are being made to promote mango variety in Alirajpur district of MP. Under the guidance of Collector Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar, two mango producing advanced farmers of Alirajpur district participated in the National Mango Festival, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Both the farmers received 10 awards in the National Mango Festival, which is a matter of pride for the entire division including Alirajpur district. Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, Collector Dr. Bedekar and other officials have congratulated both the farmers.

Public Relations Officer Manish Gupta said on Sunday that farmer Yuvraj Singh Rathore, resident of village Chhota Undwa of Alirajpur district, received seven awards in different categories under different mango varieties in the National Mango Festival. He received first prizes for Amrapali, Pusa Arunima, Rumani (Laddu), Payri mango varieties. Second prize for Mallika and Hapus mango varieties and consolation prize for Kesar mango variety. Advanced farmer Pradeep Singh Rathore, resident of village Kali Khetar of Jobat, received three awards. He received first prize for Noor Jahan, Kesar and Sindoora mango varieties.

Around 500 farmers from 8 states, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh had set up stalls of around 350 varieties of improved and indigenous mangoes at the National Mango Festival in Raipur.

It is noteworthy that the three-day National Mango Festival was organized in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This event was organized by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. Mangoes from Alirajpur district were a special center of attraction in the Mango Festival. Agricultural scientist Dr. R.K. Yadav of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Alirajpur, encouraged and guided the above farmers to participate in the Mango Festival.
