Chandigarh, June 16 (HS). Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh has announced that the fruit and vegetable market in Pinjore will start operating on July 15. All the basic facilities for selling apples will be made available in the market before July 15, which will provide more space to the vendors.
Chief Minister Naib Singh was addressing a meeting with officers of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) in Chandigarh on Sunday. In the meeting, the Chief Minister gave important directions to enhance the efficiency and infrastructure of running agricultural markets across the state. The Chief Minister also announced raising the age eligibility from 65 years to 75 years under the Mukhyamantri Kisan and Khetihar Mazdoor Jeevan Suraksha Yojana for beneficiaries suffering during agricultural operations. The scheme will be expanded to include deaths due to lightning, animal-related accidents and leakage of toxic gases from tubewells. The department has disbursed Rs 134 crore to the beneficiaries under the scheme in the last 7 years.
During the meeting, it was also decided to extend the 'Resolution of Disputes' scheme with new amendments till 30 September 2024. In old cases, a grace period of 20 days will be given for installment payment, if the payment is made within this period then such allottees will be exempted from penalty.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that 7 new Atal Kisan Mazdoor canteens will be opened, the number of canteens will increase to 47 by adding the 40 canteens already running. Apart from this, roads should be repaired by 30 June. Under this project, Rs 240 crore will be spent on the repair of 384 roads. Similarly, Rs 353 crore will be spent on 284 roads of 702 km length.
