Anuppur, June 16 (HS). It is the duty of all citizens to protect the purity and divinity of water sources. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is running Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan for the conservation and promotion of water in the state. Under this campaign, rivers, ponds, stepwells, wells etc. were deepened, beautified and renovated. Water is a wonderful gift given by God, life is not possible without water, all citizens should come forward to conserve and promote it, so that we can hand over this gift to our coming generations.
State Minister (Independent Charge) for Cottage and Village Industries Dilip Jaiswal said this on Sunday, on the last day of the “Jal Ganga Sanvardhan” campaign, while addressing the program organized after reaching the ancient Surya Mandir Devi Talab in his hometown Bijuri. He said that the river is the identity of the region, we have to enrich the identity of our region by saving it. Amarkantak of Anuppur district is a wonderful boon given by God and nature. The lifeline of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, Narmada river originates from here and also the origin place of wonderful rivers like Son and Johila. The whole world praises these rivers originating from here. It is our moral responsibility to protect and promote them. He said that whether someone knows Anuppur on the world stage or not, but everyone knows Amarkantak. On hearing the name of Amarkantak, tourists from abroad come to visit Amarkantak. This is a big thing in itself.
Minister of State Dilip Jaiswal appealed to keep the water sources, district, town, Gram Panchayat clean and said that along with conservation and development of water, we will have to pay special attention to tree plantation as well. We know that it is getting very hot in summers, one of the main reasons for this is that we are slowly destroying the forests, we are exploiting them, this exploitation has to be stopped, we have to understand that trees have a huge contribution in human life, if there are trees then there is life. If everyone does any auspicious work at their place then they must plant a tree because no auspicious work can be done without trees and water.
The Minister of State told all citizens that Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan and development works are being carried out in the district, everyone should cooperate in it. Under Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, people were also sworn in to conserve and protect water sources. The Minister of State with Independent Charge inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp and offering flowers in front of the photograph of Maa Saraswati. During this, under Amrit 2.0, the work of cleaning and beautification of ponds was also started in Nagar Parishad Bijuri. On this occasion, public representatives, Chief Municipal Officer Bijuri, senior citizens and concerned officers and employees were present.
