Raipur: Heavy firing took place between Naxalites and security forces in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. Eight Naxalites were killed in this firing. One STF jawan was martyred and two were injured. During the operation in Abhujmad forest area, firing took place between Naxalites and jawans.
On June 12, the District Reserve Guard (DRG), STF and 53rd Battalion of ITBP and BSF personnel jointly launched an operation against the Naxalites in Kutul, Fasebeda and Kodtameta villages. The security personnel had cordoned off the area and were searching for the Naxalites for a long time. During that time, the Naxalites later came out and started firing at the security forces.
There was heavy firing for hours.
However, later the firing from the Naxalites stopped. During the investigation, the bodies of eight Naxalites were found. Along with this, incest rifle, .303 rifle, grenade launcher and other weapons as well as Maoist literature were also seized. During this operation, one STF jawan was also martyred and two were seriously injured. On the 5th of this month, six Naxalites were killed in Narayanpur. Thus, this is the second operation of the week. On May 10, 12 Naxalites were killed, while on April 30, 10 Naxalites and on April 16, 29 Naxalites were killed.
