Indore, June 15 (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Malwa Utsav has special importance in the widespread dissemination of folk art and culture. Malwa Utsav will be expanded further. He said that special efforts will be made to ensure that Malwa's art and culture is widely spread across the world. Art and culture have special importance in connecting one country to another and human civilization.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Malwa Utsav organized in Indore late Saturday evening. He said that the flag of culture established by Mother Ahilya is still flying high. He said that solid stone statues are being installed in Ujjain Mahalok.
Water Resources Minister Tulsi Silavat, MLAs Ramesh Mendola, Golu Shukla, Malini Gaur, Usha Thakur, Saavan Sonkar, MP Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Pushp Mitra Bhargava, Gaurav Randive, Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Rajoura, Police Commissioner Rajesh Gupta, Collector Ashish Singh and other dignitaries were present in the program.
In the programme, dance performances were given by folk culture groups from Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. In the groups, Shruti Sharma from Indore and artists from Abhyas Kala Kendra presented art under the guidance of Megha Sharma. In the programme, Navya Chaurasia performed Kathak dance, Dalia Dasta dance, Rathwa dance from Gujarat, Vasava Holi dance from Gujarat, Badhai Naurta dance from Sagar, Thatya dance from Betul, Ram Dhol dance from Chhindwara, Lavani dance from Mumbai, Shiv Tandava dance by the team of Dr. Geeta Sharma Indore, Srujan Nari Group Indore, Gamit dance by Gujarat team gave presentation. The guests and the audience appreciated the presentations depicting the captivating folk culture wholeheartedly. The Chief Minister also encouraged the artists.
The stage was depicted as a replica of the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The replicas of the Lord Kashi Vishwanath temple, Lord Bholenath's Shiv Linga and Lord Nandi were made on the stage which made the stage look attractive and captivating. The artists on the grand stage presented their performances in traditional costumes, with melodious musical instruments and music. The folk culture of different parts of the country was seen through the Malwa festival. A large number of common people and art lovers attended the Malwa festival.
