Rewa, June 15 (HS). Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that in the model school, along with education, lessons of culture are also taught. Education is incomplete without culture. Culture-based education brings sensitivity which also works to bring about a change in the lives of the needy. He said that school education is useful throughout life. What is learnt from the conduct of the Gurus is useful even today.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla was addressing the closing ceremony of the golden jubilee year of Adarsh Uchchatar Madhyamik Vidyalaya run by Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal Bhopal in Rewa as the chief guest on Saturday. He said that the students of Model School and Engineering College have directly or indirectly contributed to the transformation of Rewa. The students of these institutions, wherever they are in the country and state, have contributed to the development of Rewa.
He said that Vindhya region and Rewa are ready to take a new flight of development. The development of irrigation facilities has brought prosperity to the people here. In the next five years, irrigation facilities will be available in nine lakh acres in the district and Rewa will be established at the highest peak of progress. To eliminate unemployment, work is being done rapidly towards expanding production and irrigation facilities, setting up industries, developing infrastructure and increasing the growth rate. Infrastructure development is necessary to increase economic activities. We have to make such a Rewa where entrepreneurs compete to invest.
The Deputy Chief Minister told the old students of Model School that while working at their duty place, they should think about the development of Rewa and also discuss the changes in Rewa so that people can be attracted towards the changing form of Rewa. He said that such events are a medium to strengthen the relations of the school. The presence of old students in this program shows their love for their school. He gave the credit of the reputation of Model School to the former Principal of the school, late Guru Prasad Srivastava and other senior teachers. He inaugurated the smart classes built in the school and assured that every possible help will be made for the development of the school.
Addressing the program as a special guest, MP Janardan Mishra said that the name of Model School has always been taken with great respect in the district. The prestige of the school was witnessed in the conference of alumni. He said that such events refresh the memories of the past. Students should always remember the contribution of their teachers. He expected teachers in educational institutions to participate in taking their institutions to the heights of progress with unity. Mishra appreciated the interaction of alumni with the students currently studying in Model School and expected that the children would be inspired to donate education to the backward and poor children of the village.
Model School's alumnus and retired IAS officer Deepak Khandekar in his presidential address talked about the changed face of Rewa and recalled old memories. He said that whatever I have become in my life was possible only because of the education and values given by the teachers of Model School. I will always be indebted to my teachers of the school and their families. Rangnath Mishra and Rajiv Singh Baghel also addressed the program. Earlier, in the welcome address, Alumni Association President, alumnus and Principal Pankaj Sharma told that Model School was established on July 1, 1974. He gave information about the organization of various programs in the school's golden jubilee year and presented the progress report of the school.
In the program, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla released the school's souvenir Srujan Patrika. He honored JP Kaushal, former officer of the Information and Publication Department, by giving him a memento. While conducting the program, alumnus and senior journalist Jairam Shukla discussed the school's heritage and its life journey and told about the school's academic excellence and the excellence of alumni in various fields. In the program, mementos were presented to the guests. On this occasion, PP Mishra, Akhilesh Singh, Dr. Anil Shrivastava, Jainendra Tiwari, alumni and school teachers, students and dignitaries were present. At the end of the program, Bhaskar Bhattacharya expressed his gratitude.
