Ranchi Deputy Commissioner directed to strictly inspect all ultrasound clinics

Ranchi, June 15 (HS). Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha held a meeting of the District Advisory Committee PC & PNDT in the Collectorate on Saturday. The Deputy Commissioner directed to take action against those clinics which are unregistered and any untrained person is doing ultrasound work.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to strictly inspect all ultrasound institutes. He said that action should be taken against the clinics conducting sex determination under the PC & PNDT provisions, which also has a provision of five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.

Decisions taken in the meeting

-13 ultrasound clinics were approved for new registration.

-Four ultrasound clinics were approved for renovation

-Approval was given for the posting of five doctors.

-Approval was given for purchase of six USG machines.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar, Deputy Superintendent Sadar Hospital Dr. AK Khaitan, Legal Advisor Jharkhand High Court Bhaskar Trivedi, Assistant Nodal Officer PC & PNDT Ranchi, PC & PNDT Dr. Abhishek, Dr. Basuki, Dr. A Sinha, PC & PNDT Coordinator Rakesh Kumar Rai and other members were present in the meeting.
