Jammu, June 15 (HS). CSIR-IIIM, Jammu and Aromatic & Allied Chemicals, Bareilly have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) to collaborate on value addition of selected aromatic crops of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and joint development of innovative aromatic products. A spokesperson said that the MoA signing ceremony held on Saturday at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu marked an important milestone in the synergy between these two prestigious organizations. The collaboration aims to leverage CSIR-IIIM's expertise in natural product research and Aromatic & Allied Chemicals' proficiency in processing aromatic oils to develop high-value aromatic products that meet market demands and enhance agricultural sustainability.
Expressing his happiness over the partnership, Dr. Zabir Ahmad, Director, CSIR-IIIM said that this collaboration is in line with CSIR-IIIM's commitment to transform scientific knowledge into impactful applications. By combining our research strengths with the industry insights of Aromatic & Allied Chemicals, we aim to create new avenues for the use of aromatic resources for economic and environmental benefits. Such a venture will also help progressive farmers in value addition, product development and market linkages, he added.
