Chittorgarh, June 15 (His). A sit-in has started on Saturday under the aegis of CITU Union outside the Nuvoco Cement Plant located in Bhawalia Gram Panchayat area of Nimbahera subdivision area of the district for two-point demands. The indefinite sit-in demonstration of contract workers working in the packing plant here is continuing peacefully. In view of the demonstration, the factory gate has been closed. Talks were held twice in the presence of representatives of the administration but remained inconclusive.
Information revealed that the workers had contacted the factory management regarding two-point demands in the Nuvoco Cement Plant. When the demands were not met, they staged a sit-in at the factory gate. During the protest here, the workers raised strong slogans against the Nuvoco Cement Plant management at the plant gate. Here the contract workers are staging a sit-in protest with two-point demands. One of the demands was that their contract worker colleague was unnecessarily thrown out of the plant without any information or notice and there was no increase in salary despite assurances for 3 years, due to which the workers got angry. The workers started protesting from Saturday itself regarding these two demands. Here, the police force of Nimbahera Sadar police station was also deployed at the factory gate of the cement plant as a precaution regarding the protest of the workers. On the other hand, Bhavaliya Patwari Sandeep Singh and Girdavar Prabhu Lal Jat were also sent to the spot by the administration. The workers were called upon to put their demands before the management in a peaceful manner. Regarding the protest, Patwari Sandeep Singh said that since morning till now negotiations have been held twice with the management but they have been inconclusive. The factory management has not been able to give any assurance. The demands of the workers have been made known to the factory management.
