The court said that looking at the fraud case filed mainly by a bullion trader against Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra, the case seems to be correct. after Sessions Court Judge NP Mehta has directed Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to investigate the allegations made in the complaint of bullion trader Prithviraj Sreemmal Kothari. Apart from this, the court has said in its order that if the allegations are proved correct after investigation, then the police should register an FIR in this case under all the relevant sections of the IPC.
The lawyer appearing on behalf of Kothari in the court said that Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra are the founders of Satyug Gold Private Limited. They started a scheme in 2014. In which applicants have to pay the full amount for gold at a discounted rate while applying and a fixed amount of gold will be provided on the maturity date. Kothari had invested Rs 90 lakh in this scheme. He was promised 5000 grams of 24 carat gold on completion of five years in 2019 but has not received the gold yet. After which in 2020 Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra gave a post dated cheque of Rs 90 lakh. Which was the principal amount. Kothari accused Shilpa and Raj of not fulfilling the promise.
