Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra accused of gold scheme fraud, court orders investigation

The dark clouds hovering over Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra are not clearing. Their involvement in new chapters and investigations are becoming more exciting one after the other. Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra have been accused of cheating people through a gold scheme. A Mumbai court has also directed the police to investigate the matter.

According to reports, Riddhi Siddhi Bullions MD Prithviraj Kothari has filed a complaint in the court in this case, according to which other people have also been made accused in this case apart from Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. Hearing this case, Additional Sessions Judge N.P. Mehta has said that prima facie cognizable offense should be registered against Kundra couple's company Satyug Gold Private Limited and its two directors and an employee. The court directed the BKC police station to investigate Kothari's complaint. The Additional Sessions Judge told the police that if the investigation reveals a cognizable offense, then an FIR should be registered under sections of fraud and criminal trespass.

Scheme started in 2014:

In the complaint filed by advocates Harikrishan Mishra and Vishal Acharya, Kothari has said that the Kundra couple had launched a scheme in 2014. Kothari has said in the complaint that the accused hatched an alleged conspiracy and cheated the public by making a fake scheme. In the said scheme, the complainant had invested Rs 90.38 lakh for 5 years and the counterparty was assured that 5,000 grams i.e. 5 kg of 24 carat gold would be delivered on April 2, 2019. However, the delivery of gold is never made on or after the maturity date.

Kundra couple's problems may increase:

Earlier this year, Raj Kundra came on the ED's radar in a money laundering case related to a Ponzi scheme. In this case, the investigating agency has found goods worth crores of rupees including a flat registered in the name of Shilpa Shetty in Mumbai. Assets worth Rs 97.79 crore have been seized. Earlier, Raj Kundra's name also came up in the pornography case. Now the case of fraud through gold scheme can increase his troubles.
