Mumbai: The pleasure of leisurely eating ice cream after dinner turned into a punishment for a Mumbai doctor. Because when this doctor ate half of the ice cream cone, he found a severed human thumb inside it. The doctor was shocked to see a severed human thumb coming out of the ice cream cone and he lodged a complaint with the police in this regard.
The complainant, Dr. Brendan Ferrao (26), has an MBBS degree and lives in Malad. In his complaint, he said that on Wednesday afternoon he ordered a butterscotch ice cream cone from Yummo through an e-commerce app. After lunch at an ice cream parlor, after eating half the ice cream, a severed human thumb with a nail was found in the cone. Ferrao was shocked to see this scene.
The doctor, who is pursuing post graduation, complained about this on his Instagram page and raised the matter against the ice cream company. However, the doctor did not get any proper response from them. After this, the complainant doctor kept the severed toe in an ice bag and took it with him to the Malad police station. Where he lodged a complaint in this regard. Based on the doctor's complaint, the police registered a case against Yummo Ice Cream Company under sections 272 (adulteration in food or drink made for sale), 273 (sale of harmful food and drink) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety others) of the IPC. In this regard, a police officer said that the piece of flesh found in the ice cream has been sent for forensic examination to find out whether it is a severed part of a human finger or not.
Giving more details about the incident to the media, the complainant told that while eating ice cream, a big piece went into his mouth. At first, he thought it was a piece of walnut. But he suspected that something was wrong. So, on taking the piece out of the mouth, it was found that it was a piece of flesh and on closer inspection, it turned out to be a severed human thumb. Being a doctor, he knows human organs very well and he found that the piece of flesh he found was actually a severed human toe. The doctors told the media that they were shocked to find a piece of human organ in the ice cream. This shocked the doctor.
In this regard, senior police inspector Ravindra Aadne said that the piece of flesh found with the nail is believed to be about one and a half centimetres. After registering a case in this regard, the police is investigating where the ice cream was brought from and when and where it was made.
