Who can donate blood?
– Any person between the age of 18 to 65 years is considered physically eligible to donate blood.
-To donate blood, the weight should be at least 50 kg.
-Your health should be good while donating blood. If a person has cold, fever, sore throat, stomach worms or any other infection then that person cannot donate blood.
In which situation blood cannot be donated for some time?
– If a person has recently got a tattoo or body piercing done on his body, then he should not donate blood for six months from the date of getting it done.
-Blood donation cannot be done for 24 hours after any procedure at the dentist. If you have undergone any major dental treatment, do not donate blood for a month.
– A person whose hemoglobin level is not normal cannot donate blood. Blood can be donated if the hemoglobin level is normal.
Who should not donate blood?
– A person who has had unprotected sex with more than one partner during a year should not donate blood.
– HIV positive person should also never donate blood.
– Do not donate blood to a person who is consuming any kind of intoxicant.
– Pregnant women, breastfeeding women or women who have had a miscarriage should not donate blood.
