On April 26, 2023, the Gauhati High Court disqualified the winner of the 2019 assembly election for concealing information in the nomination papers. The court's decision came in the context of a petition filed by Dasanglu's opponent Lupalam. Lupalam alleged that her late husband's assets were not disclosed in the nomination form. However, the Supreme Court overruled the Gauhati High Court's decision, upholding Dasanglu's assembly membership.
