Planting trees for the revival of rivers and water sources is everyone's responsibility: Minister Patel

Sehore, June 13 (HS). If there are trees, there is water and if there is water, there is life. It is the responsibility of every person to conserve water and environment for the healthy and safe life of the coming generation. This was said by Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Prahlad Singh Patel on Thursday in a program organized under Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan in village Bamulia of Sehore District Panchayat. Minister Patel also planted a sapling at the origin of the Kolans river.

Minister Patel said that man has exploited many natural resources including water and forests indiscriminately for his selfish interests, the ill-effects of which are visible. Today the rivers are dry, there is no water in the ponds, the environment is getting polluted. All these are having adverse effects on human life. If this situation remains, the coming generation will blame us for this. He said that today we have to take a pledge to conserve and enhance all our water sources as well as plant trees and keep them alive.

He said that our ancestors were very farsighted and intelligent. They planted species of plants that were conducive to water and environment conservation near the origin of rivers and water sources. He said that plants that absorb more water should not be planted near water sources, but plants that emit water should be planted. This will keep our water sources alive. He said that our ancestors had already constructed wells, stepwells, pools, ponds, lakes and ghats for the coming generations and left them for us as a gift.

Minister Patel said that the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan is not only of the state government, it is a campaign of every citizen. When Prime Minister Modi started the campaign, I also decided that I will go to the origin of the rivers. I am continuously going to the origin and today I have come to the origin of the Kolans river. The water of the Kolans river goes to the big pond of Bhopal and the big pond quenches the thirst of Bhopal. From this point of view also, for the revival of the Kolans river, we will have to take a pledge to plant as many saplings as possible and keep them alive.

Water and environmental conservation is the responsibility of the whole society: Revenue Minister Verma

Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma said in the plantation program organized under Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan in village Bamulia that if there is water, there is tomorrow. We all have to make collective efforts for water conservation. Rainwater should be stored as much as possible. All water sources including rivers, ponds, wells, stepwells, ponds will have to be cleaned, deepened and renovated so that maximum water can be stored.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the development of the state will get a new impetus. He said that a revenue campaign was run for two months so that the people of the state do not have to worry about revenue related matters, in which 30 revenue cases have been resolved. He said that a rule has been made that the property will be transferred within 20 days of purchase and sale. Similarly, a limit of 30 days has been fixed for demarcation. Minister Verma said that many welfare schemes like Ujjwala gas connection, Pradhan Mantri Awas, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ladli Behna, Ladli Laxmi, free ration distribution are being run. District BJP President Ravi Malviya also addressed the program at the beginning.
