Complete the construction work of Sirmatoli-Mecon flyover by September 2024: Chief Minister

Ranchi, June 13 (HS). Chief Minister Champai Soren has directed to complete the work of the flyover being built from Sirmatoli to Mecon by September 2024. Soren was doing a high-level review of the work progress related to the flyover bridge of Ranchi and the traffic system of other cities with the officials at the Jharkhand Ministry on Thursday.

The Chief Minister said that Sirmatoli flyover is a better option to control the traffic problem of Ranchi city. There should not be any delay in the construction work of this flyover. The Chief Minister said that our government wants that the people of Ranchi city should be relieved from the problem of traffic jam as soon as possible. Traffic control in the entire state is the priority of our government.

In the meeting, Principal Secretary of Road Construction Department Sunil Kumar presented the updated information about the progress of the flyover being constructed from Sirmatoli to Mecon through a power point presentation before the Chief Minister. Departmental Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar informed the Chief Minister that cable stay bridges are to be built at two places in the flyover construction work being constructed from Sirmatoli to Mecon. For this purpose, cooperation has been sought from the Railways. Almost all the work has been completed except the two places where the cable stay bridge is to be built. The DRM of Ranchi Railway Division has said that he will cooperate in starting the cable stay bridge construction work soon. As soon as instructions are received from the Railway Department, the cable stay bridge construction work will be completed by employing additional manpower. DRM of Ranchi Railway Division Jasmeet Singh Bindra said that the cable stay bridge construction work will be completed by September.

In the meeting, the Road Construction Department presented before the Chief Minister the important works to solve the traffic problem in Ranchi and other cities. Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar informed the Chief Minister that work has already started on the proposal to build an internal ring road in Ranchi. The length of this internal ring road will be 52 kilometers.

Departmental officials informed the Chief Minister that a proposal has been prepared to construct 12 flyovers to strengthen the traffic system in the entire state. 2 flyovers will be constructed in Saraikela and one in Dumka, while all the remaining flyovers are proposed to be constructed in Ranchi. The Principal Secretary of the Road Construction Department informed the Chief Minister that the Road Construction Department is preparing DPR for the construction of bypass roads in Dumka, Daltonganj, Chaibasa, Giridih and Jamshedpur of the state. On the spot, the Chief Minister was informed that DPR has been prepared for the construction of flyovers from Karamtoli in Ranchi to Booti Mor via RIMS and from Hinoo to DPS School via Birsa Chowk. The department also presented a power point presentation of this scheme before the Chief Minister. State Chief Secretary L Khiangte, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Road Construction Department Sunil Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Arwa Rajkamal, DRM Ranchi Railway Division Jasmeet Singh Bindra, Assistant Postal General Chairman Rupak Kumar Sinha, CE, CDO, RCD KK Lal, Chief Engineer Traffic Manohar Kumar along with other officials of the Road Construction Department and representatives of L&T were present in the meeting.
