Kolkata, June 13 (HS). Not only actress Rituparna Sengupta, at least 50 other people are under the surveillance of investigators in the ration distribution corruption case. According to ED sources, a list of such people has been prepared.
According to sources in the central investigation agency, the ration corruption money has gone into the accounts of all the 50 people they are keeping an eye on. However, to be sure about this, the investigators are checking the bank documents and other documents of the suspects.
According to ED sources, if there is a clear indication in this regard, she can be called for questioning. Earlier on June 5, Rituparna was called to the ED's CGO Complex for questioning in the ration corruption case. But she did not appear that day.
According to sources, Rituparna could not go to the ED office due to being abroad. She emailed this to ED officials. According to sources in the central investigating agency, she was later given a notice again. An ED official claimed that the investigators have received information about Rituparna's financial transactions with an accused arrested in the ration corruption case. However, the ED has not officially said anything about this. It has also been learned through sources that Rituparna has been called as a witness regarding financial transactions worth crores of rupees.
Regarding the ED summons, Rituparna said, “I don't know what ration corruption is. I got this news suddenly.” At the same time, Rituparna claimed that a conspiracy is being hatched against her.
