The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on June 24, new members will take oath and the speaker will be elected

The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin from June 24. Apart from this, the session of the 264th Rajya Sabha will begin from June 27. During this, the swearing-in of the newly elected members, election of the Lok Sabha Speaker, President's address and discussions in this regard will take place. The session of both the houses will continue till July 3. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju gave this information.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said on Wednesday that the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on June 24, in which the newly elected members will take oath. The newly elected leaders will be sworn in on the first three days of the session. Along with this, the Speaker of the House will also be elected. The session will end on July 3. President Draupadi Murmu will address a joint meeting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on June 27 and outline the new government for the next five years.

In a post on Instagram, Rijiju said that the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is being convened from 24.6.24 to 3.7.24 for the swearing-in/acceptance of the newly elected members, election of the Speaker, President's address and discussion on it. The 264th session of the Rajya Sabha will also begin on June 27 and end on July 3. It is expected that after the President's address on June 27, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate his cabinet in Parliament.
