Three crore new houses will be built under PM Awas Yojana | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Ever since Modi 3.0 took oath, the new government is seen in full action mode. As soon as Prime Minister Modi took power on Monday morning, he took a big decision regarding Kisan Samman Nidhi and in the evening, in the cabinet meeting, he decided to take the PM Awas Yojana further forward.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held the first meeting of his new cabinet on Monday evening. In this meeting, it was decided that the central government will provide assistance to three crore additional rural and urban families to build houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. 4.21 crore houses have been built in 10 years. This was announced by the Prime Minister himself while releasing the BJP's manifesto. Officials said that in the cabinet meeting today, it was decided to provide assistance to three crore additional rural and urban families to build houses to meet the housing needs arising due to the increase in the number of eligible families.

Basic amenities like household toilet, LPG connection, electricity connection are provided in all the houses constructed under PMAY in coordination with other schemes of Central and State Governments of Government of India implemented from 2015-16. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), eligible rural and urban families are assisted in construction of houses equipped with basic amenities.

A total of 4.21 crore houses have been completed under this initiative in the last decade. Houses built under PMAY not only come with shelter but also provide essential amenities like toilet, LPG connection, electricity connection and functioning household tap connection in the house.
