Satna, June 10 (HS). As per the instructions of the state government to prevent child begging, a rescue campaign will be run in Satna district from June 11 to 18 under the rehabilitation policy for street children under the direction of Collector and District Magistrate Anurag Verma. Teams have also been formed for action in the hotspot areas identified in Satna city. This information was given by District Program Officer Saurabh Singh in a meeting held in the Collectorate hall on Monday. On this occasion, DPC Vishnu Tripathi, In-charge Assistant Labor Commissioner Hemant Daniel, PRO Rajesh Singh, CDPO Arunesh Tiwari, Puneet Sharma along with members of the task force and NGOs related to child protection reform were also present.
The District Program Officer said that children below the age of 18 years get involved in begging and become victims of accidents near traffic signals and get cut off from the mainstream of society by getting involved in vices like drug addiction etc. To prevent child begging, the State Government has implemented the Policy 2022 for the overall rehabilitation of families involved in begging by benefiting them with various schemes for strengthening them and connecting them with the mainstream of education and their overall rehabilitation. An awareness campaign has also been run in this regard at all divisional headquarters from 20 May to 9 June. Section 76 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 provides for a punishment of 5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh for employing children in begging.
Collector Anurag Verma has also formed two teams to run rescue operations in the hotspot areas of the city from June 11 to June 18. In this, Project Officer Puneet Sharma has been made the team in-charge for team number one from Semriya Chowk to Maheshwari Mishthan Bharhut Nagar Tiraha and Venkatesh Temple area. The team includes Labor Inspector Naresh Patel, Deputy Inspector SJPU Manoj Pandey, Municipal Corporation Revenue Officer Yusuf Khan, Supervisor Ratna Pandey, Ruby Ojha, representative of NGO Gram Sudhar and three Anganwadi workers. In the second team, CDPO Arunesh Tiwari will be the team in-charge in Civil Line Square area and Sai Mandir Dwari area. This team includes Labor Inspector Anurag, Ajay Parmar from Municipal Corporation, Dharmendra Tripathi from SJPU, Supervisor Amit Singh, Shivi Sharma, Archana Singh, Durga Kashyap, Anupa Yadav, Ranbhan Lodhi from Kailash Satyarthi Foundation NGO.
As per the order of the collector, this team will conduct a continuous campaign from 11 to 18 June and present the children found during rescue before the child welfare committee. After health check-up and counselling, individual child care plan will be prepared and their families will be counselled and by coordinating with the departments, the benefits of government schemes will also be provided as per eligibility. District Programme Officer Saurabh Singh said that on 26 June, a team of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights will camp at Rampur Baghelan and Majhgawan district headquarters of the district regarding the rights of children and their problems.
Satna: Pulse polio campaign will be conducted from 23 to 25 June
Pulse polio campaign will be run in the district from 23 to 25 June. Under the campaign, children up to the age of five years will be given two drops of polio medicine. On the first day of the campaign, on 23 June, the medicine will be administered at the booth. Children who are deprived of pulse polio medicine on the first day will be administered the medicine by the health department team by going door to door on the next day, 24 and 25 June.
This information was given in the meeting of the District Task Force of Pulse Polio Campaign held on Monday under the chairmanship of Collector Anurag Verma. On this occasion, CEO District Panchayat Sanjana Jain, Additional Collector Swapnil Wankhede, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sher Singh Meena, CMHO Dr. LK Tiwari, Civil Surgeon Dr. Manoj Shukla, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Suchitra Agarwal, District Program Officer Saurabh Singh, Public Relations Officer Rajesh Singh and all BMO, DPO were present.
It was told in the meeting that during the Pulse Polio campaign, children with symptoms of Measles Rubella will also be identified. For inter-departmental coordination, the collector has directed District Program Officer Saurabh Singh that in the Pulse Polio campaign, all Anganwadi workers and assistants will also provide necessary support to the vaccination teams. The District Vaccination Officer said that for conducting the campaign, 536 vaccination booths have been set up in urban areas and 2086 in rural areas.
Similarly, the number of transit booths is 40 in urban areas and 34 in rural areas. During the campaign, 18 mobile teams will carry out vaccination in urban areas and 28 in rural areas. Under the Pulse Polio campaign, a target has been set to administer polio drops to 3 lakh 56 thousand 237 children in the district. To make the campaign successful, 5658 employees and 282 supervisors have been put on duty.
