DGP held a meeting with the officers and gave several guidelines

Ranchi, June 10 (HS). DGP Ajay Kumar Singh held a meeting with IG, DIG, SSP and SP at the Police Headquarters on Monday. The DGP gave several guidelines, including streamlining the current law and order situation in the state, curbing criminal incidents, running a rapid campaign against Naxals, taking prompt action in cases under POCSO Act.

The DGP congratulated all police officials for conducting peaceful Lok Sabha elections in the state. In the meeting, the DGP discussed law and order, implementation of warrants, updated status of investigations, crime control, monitoring of cases related to POCSO Act, updated status of certificate cases, illegal mining, illegal drugs and liquor, police infrastructure related issues, law and order related matters in implementation of schemes, forest and land revenue related matters affecting police activity, law and order in conducting JPSC, JSSC examinations and other crimes and their execution and gave necessary guidelines.

The DGP directed to launch a joint campaign by identifying the hideouts of Maoists in the state. He said that in recent times, there has been a considerable decrease in the Naxal-affected areas. He asked to launch an effective campaign against the remaining Maoists by formulating a solid strategy. He also stressed on launching an effective campaign against Naxalites by taking the local people into confidence in the said areas and collecting accurate intelligence. The DGP reviewed law and order, execution of warrants, and the updated status of investigations. The DGP stressed on all IGs, DIGs, SSPs and SPs to take strict action against organized criminal gangs for crime control, arrest the absconding criminals of criminal gangs at all costs and curb crime, and also to expedite the pending cases of long duration. Apart from this, while reviewing the reported and executed cases, execution of warrant attachment, he took information regarding the updated status and gave necessary guidelines. To curb the active criminal gangs, he directed to prepare a list of criminal gangs and their members in all the districts of the state and arrest the absconding criminals immediately and keep an eye on the criminals lodged in jail and announce reward against the absconding criminals as per rules.

The DGP specifically directed the DIG to keep a constant vigil on the current activities of criminals released on bail, take action under the provisions of CCA, ensure the arrest of absconding members of organized criminal gangs at all costs, and crack down on members of inter-state criminal gangs. He sought information about how many proposals were sent from which district under CCA against active criminals, how many were approved and how many are pending. Stress was laid on identifying those criminals who commit crimes repeatedly and taking strict action against them as per law. Instructions were given to register the names of accused criminals in the tainted register and keep a constant vigil on them.
