Hazaribagh, June 10 (HS). In a meeting held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the condition of water for every household, hand pumps and tube wells, water supply in schools and Anganwadi centres and deep boring construction work etc. He directed to prepare an action plan with a month-wise, block-wise and village-wise micro plan for better implementation of the Nal Jal Yojana and other drinking water related schemes.
The Executive Engineer informed that a target has been set to connect 344632 houses with the Tap Water Scheme, against which tap connections have been made in 58.88 percent houses. On this the Deputy Commissioner asked to keep a regular monitoring of the drinking water supply through the Tap Water Scheme and directed to speed up the connection work in the remaining houses. He said that the officers and contractors should prepare a better action plan and hold a meeting. In view of the summer, there should not be a lax attitude in the repair work of broken hand pumps. He also said that the head can also get minor repair works done through the 14th Finance.
The Executive Engineer informed that from 01 March to 09 June, a total of 1900 hand pumps have been repaired and made functional. The Deputy Commissioner said that news related to drinking water is published in the daily newspapers every day. For this, do not wait for any order, rather be sensitive yourself and focus on promptly resolving the related complaint or problem. For resolving the drinking water problem, instructions were given to take cognizance of the complaints received through online medium and work on it. The Executive Engineer informed that to get rid of the drinking water problem, ten tube wells will be installed in each Panchayat. The Deputy Commissioner also directed to ensure piped water supply in schools and Anganwadi centres.
